[The blushing is not going away either so she tries to think of something to change the subject.]

Oh, um... Are you thirsty? I. Um, only have tap water though.

[He does appreciate that he got to show her the Blue Badger, and she seems to like it! ...The Blue Badger has been dancing and providing background music this whole time.]

Not that you mention it, I am a little thirsty. Some tap water's fine with me! You don't have anything el- oh. Right, you don't have to eat or drink, don't ya.

[The music is very unfitting for what just happened, but hey it might lighten the mood.]

Yup, I could if I felt like it but I don't. [Said bluntly as she goes to get that glass of water for Gumshoe.] Although I guess if I'm gonna have guests and such I should probably get something.

[Not that Lapis knows what that something could be. Aside from maybe sparking juice, that's a drink she's been given before so maybe she should look into getting some of that.]

[The Blue Badger music clearly fits any and all situations.]

Hey pal, it's up to you. People can always bring their own drinks if they want! [He shrugs his shoulders.] So you don't think about stuff like... trying out food and drinks and all?

Hm. [Here she comes, with the glass of water, she'll hand it to Gumshoe before she takes a seat. And she put the books out of sight while she had gone and got that drink.]

No, I haven't. It's not something I need to do and I don't see the appeal? I mean, good for humans for doing it but it's not for me. [She gives her own little shrug of her shoulders as she speaks.]

[He'll take that glass with a grateful smile and sip away, while trying to forget about the whole anatomy book incident.]

Thanks! ...Hm, that's fair, pal. A big core of the appeal is that they can taste really great! ...Well, er, water doesn't really have much of a taste, but other drinks do! But hey, if it's not for you, then I'll just keep on enjoying 'em for the both of us! [He grins and raises a thumbs up.]

Heh, well that's good to hear. Better someone who will enjoy it has it then it going to waste.

Right? [He smirks.] If you ever get any unwanted food or drinks on your hand, just leave it to me! I'll eat anything for ya, pal!

[Considering the books she just hid away, would Gumshoe saying he'll eat anything put a bad thought in Lapis' brain.

So don't mind the brief look on her face after he's done speaking.]

Ah... Good. Good to know.

[Gumshoe blinks, oblivious to the thoughts going through her head, and he chuckles.]

I sure hope so, pal! Just think of me as your personal garbage disposal!

[Oh god, she's glad she's sitting down as she just starts to laugh now and buries her face in her hands.

Because what do you even say to that?]

[Aw, how cute! Things don't seem so bad now. They're hanging out, and he got a good laugh out of her? Gumshoe guffaws and laughs along.]

And hey - I'm also a laugh dispenser!

Hahaha, yes you are.

[Laughing is a lot better than sitting in awkward silence, and it's more fitting for their musical accompiment.]

[He chuckles some more, now that they're in better spirits.]

Good! Cuz your laughs're really worthwhile, Lapis!

[Oh Gumshoe, why? Now she's blushing again.]

You're welcome! Trust me, Lapis. I know a nice laugh when I hear one! [He manages to relax in the chair.] It's... pretty nice, just hanging' out with you, Lapis.

Oh, well... It's nice hanging out with you too, Dick. [She's still blushing, and feeling a bit awkward now but hey... That seems to be the usual for her when she's around him.]

Glad to hear it, pal! [He says with a soft smile. At least that much between them seems mutual.]

Anything else you wanna talk about? Life, hobbies, things to do for fun?

Life... [Yeah let's not talk about her life, her life sucks. Or sucked up to a point. She coughs and clears her throat.]

Hobbies, well... Making art is one, that you know of, and um. I like to read. [Let us not bring up the previous books.] Oh, and there is a show from home I enjoy watching!

[He's sure it would be great to hear her life story sometime!

He awkwardly looks down as she mentions reading, because, sorry, that memory is still fresh! Maybe eventually he'll be able to think of Lapis reading without specifically thinking of her reading one of those books.

So he clings to the last subject.]

Oh yeah? What show's that? [He's always curious if other worlds get the same channels.]

[Ahahaha.

Lapis does perk up at Gumshoe asking about the show, Camp Pining Hearts is something of a thing for her.]

It's called Camp Pining Hearts, it about these campers and their daily struggles at camp and the Color War between the various campers and...

[She'll keep going if she's not interrupted, describing the teen soap opera as best as she can without spoiling anything.]

[Gumshoe does let her ramble on about the show, even if he feels like he only understand half of it. It doesn't sound like a show he'd watch on his own, but he feels sold on it just based on how Lapis describes it. Or maybe it's just her speaking so passionately in general that gets his attention! It's definitely cute how much she cares for the show, and he smiles softly when they reach a stopping point.]

Huh. I never heard of it... but it sounds nice. Those campers, they sure get up to some wacky mischief!

[It's most certainly no Steel Samurai or Jammin' Ninja, but hey Lapis enjoys it and to her, that's what matters.]

It's a good show, although season five is kind of eh. [She holds out a hand in the so-so gesture when she says the word "eh", unlike some of her friends she doesn't find the fifth season to be complete trash.]

What about you, Dick? Is there a show you like?

[Gumshoe nods along. And he smiles as he thinks back to tv.]

Heh. I don't watch too many shows, but there's one Sunday night drama I like a lot! It's called "All My Cops". It follows the story of a detective and a prosecutor who have this super tight bond! It's heart-wrenching and inspirational, pal. [He doesn't have as much to say about his show, but he's not much of a fanboy in general, at least of tv shows.]

[Even if it's not much to say, Lapis can tell it's a show Gumshoe enjoys watching. Even if it's not to the same degree as she is with Camp Pining Hearts, she'll listen to him talk.]

Inspirational, huh? [She's hoping he'll go further along that train of thought because it's got her a bit curious.]
