[He waves a hand to try to dismiss her apology.]

Hey, you don't gotta be sorry at all. I get it, pal. I try my best, but I should face the facts. I might never be as good as Detective Jim from that show! There'll always be me more mistakes to make, and... well, at least now you know that about me.

[He can wave it off, but he can't make her not feel bad for making him feel bad.]

He's in a show, which isn't real. Everyone makes mistakes so you shouldn't feel bad about it. Or be made to feel bad about it.

[He scratches at his head as he looks up at her.]

You really think so, Lapis? It's... not that bad? [He was sure that she must be starting to think less of him after that.]

Well, um.

[How to put this? Think, Lapis. WWSD? What Would Steven Do.] I think as long as you keep trying to be better it's not that bad.

[Now he looks hopeful, a soft smile crossing his face.]

Really? W-well I do keep trying to be better, I swear! I'm gonna do only my very best!

Then there we go.

[She claps her hands together, as if that means they can end this line of conversation.]

R-right. I feel a lot better now. [He rubs at his head. At least it seems like Lapis doesn't hate him for this. And he can do better for her - he wants to do better for him.]

[The thanks gets a strange look from Lapis, as she's not exactly sure why he's thanking her. She made him feel bad! That is not something to thank someone about, even if she fixed it.]

It's, um, nothing. Really.

[He feels that he deserved it, so he's grateful that she's being forgiving about it.]

Hey, if you say so, pal. ...S-so, uh, tv shows! Good... stuff, huh? [He says, awkwardly trying to transition back to the original subject.] I haven't really tried watching much of the tv in this world. I wonder if there's anything good!

[Oh god, TV here. Lapis was a bit wary of checking it out after that movie on the flight from the one moon to Lunatia, what if normal TV is just as weird?]

I, uh, wouldn't know. I haven't really been tempted to check?

[It is a valid concern. But, without any new media from home, he can't help but wonder.]

Hmm... Wanna give it a try? ...Or... maybe it'd be too risky. [He wavers indecisively.]

[One-day Lapis will hit up the Ware Shop and get all of Camp Pining Hearts.]

Um, maybe some other time? [It's been a weird rollercoaster of everything, adding whatever might be on television might just make things even more awkward.]

[That would lead to some glorious binge watching!

For now, Gumshoe just doesn't realize how much his idea is tempting fate. Still, he accepts that with a nod.]

Sure! TV can always wait for another time, pal. Come to think of it, we've been hanging around here for a while now. I shouldn't hold you up all day!

[They shall tempt fate some other day!]

Oh, right. I lost track of time. [She'll stand up, brushing her hands down the front of her pants out of habit.]

It's been fun hanging out with you, Dick.

It sure has been! [He smiles fondly as he rises to his feet. Part of him doesn't want to leave, but he figures it's time.] I.... I really enjoyed this. Thanks for having me, Lapis!

[He reclaims his trenchcoat from the Blue Badger. Then he motions towards that dancing thing.]

Hey - you wanna keep this guy, or should I take 'im back with me?

[That and don't want to overstay and have things go back to being awkward.

About the badger though...]

Well you made it, right? So it's honestly up to you where it goes.

Well... if you're okay with it, then...

[He looks towards her collection of trash art.]

...I'd be honored if it could stand next to your art - your meep morps!

Sure...

[Although she will be trying to figure how to turn it off, because that music will probably get super annoying after a while.]

It'd be an honor.

The honor's all mine, pal!

[He beams as he lifts the Blue Badger and places it down near her other morps.

Luckily there's an off switch somewhere on it. Or she can just tear the batteries out.

With that taken care of, he goes to face Lapis.]

A-anyway... It's been really great, Lapis. I... I can always make time to hang out with you more! [He says hopefully.]

[Well, that is now a thing.

And now he is facing her, and she can't help but blush once more.]

Ah well, yeah. And um, thank you.

[She does need to stand on her tip toes a little to do this, but it'll be worth it as she leans up to give Gumshoe a brief kiss on the cheek.]

[That kiss is like flipping a switch that turns his face red. It took him completely by surprise, and so, as simple as it was, the soft tingle leaves him feeling like puddy.]

O-oh. ...Th-thanks! ...I... I mean... you're welcome! [He doesn't know if he should do something back - after a moment, he just tries to give her a quick, fierce hug.]

[Unexpected hug! Not that she'll complain about it, but she does make a slight squeak of surprise.]

A-anyway, you should get going? [She's delayed him enough.]

R-right! Leaving. I was... leaving. [He says with a nervous chuckle. Giddy with a mix of his nervousness and the rush of Chroma, he starts to shuffle towards the door.]

It's been great, pal. Me, I- I'll seeya around. Take care, Lapis!! [He then nearly walks into the door, before he remembers to open it and depart.]
