[Gumshoe does let her ramble on about the show, even if he feels like he only understand half of it. It doesn't sound like a show he'd watch on his own, but he feels sold on it just based on how Lapis describes it. Or maybe it's just her speaking so passionately in general that gets his attention! It's definitely cute how much she cares for the show, and he smiles softly when they reach a stopping point.]

Huh. I never heard of it... but it sounds nice. Those campers, they sure get up to some wacky mischief!

[It's most certainly no Steel Samurai or Jammin' Ninja, but hey Lapis enjoys it and to her, that's what matters.]

It's a good show, although season five is kind of eh. [She holds out a hand in the so-so gesture when she says the word "eh", unlike some of her friends she doesn't find the fifth season to be complete trash.]

What about you, Dick? Is there a show you like?

[Gumshoe nods along. And he smiles as he thinks back to tv.]

Heh. I don't watch too many shows, but there's one Sunday night drama I like a lot! It's called "All My Cops". It follows the story of a detective and a prosecutor who have this super tight bond! It's heart-wrenching and inspirational, pal. [He doesn't have as much to say about his show, but he's not much of a fanboy in general, at least of tv shows.]

[Even if it's not much to say, Lapis can tell it's a show Gumshoe enjoys watching. Even if it's not to the same degree as she is with Camp Pining Hearts, she'll listen to him talk.]

Inspirational, huh? [She's hoping he'll go further along that train of thought because it's got her a bit curious.]

Uh-huh! [He nods simply.] I'm a detective, after all, and I work with prosecutors all the time. Especially Mr. Edgeworth! We're like a classic crimefighting team, relying on each other and doing our best to put crooks behind bars! [He raises his dukes for dramatic effect!]

[Lapis goes "ooo" at that, even though she thinks it's kind of silly But then she remembers something...]

Although sometimes you've put not crooks behind bars.

[That is one surefire way to take the wind out of his sails! His shoulders sink as she brings that up.]

R-right. Sometimes we, we nailed the wrong person. ...B-but to be fair, they only made it behind the bars of the detention center! That defense attorney always found the truth and proved 'em innocent.

Mm... I see.

[Good thing Lapis at least has a vague idea about lawyers and such, since Homeworld does have a justice system. A horribly biased justice system, but hey!]

Sorry, I just... Thought of that and. Sorry.

[The Zircons are doing their best, okay!

He keeps his head down as he nods.]

Hey, I'm the one who should be sorry. I'm the one who messed up a bunch of times, pal. It's okay i-if you think of that when you think of me! [He feels resigned that his association with failure will follow him no matter what the world.]

I don't! I just thought of that when you mentioned and... I.

Sorry.

[Aw shucks, she's messed up hasn't she?]

[He waves a hand to try to dismiss her apology.]

Hey, you don't gotta be sorry at all. I get it, pal. I try my best, but I should face the facts. I might never be as good as Detective Jim from that show! There'll always be me more mistakes to make, and... well, at least now you know that about me.

[He can wave it off, but he can't make her not feel bad for making him feel bad.]

He's in a show, which isn't real. Everyone makes mistakes so you shouldn't feel bad about it. Or be made to feel bad about it.

[He scratches at his head as he looks up at her.]

You really think so, Lapis? It's... not that bad? [He was sure that she must be starting to think less of him after that.]

Well, um.

[How to put this? Think, Lapis. WWSD? What Would Steven Do.] I think as long as you keep trying to be better it's not that bad.

[Now he looks hopeful, a soft smile crossing his face.]

Really? W-well I do keep trying to be better, I swear! I'm gonna do only my very best!

Then there we go.

[She claps her hands together, as if that means they can end this line of conversation.]

R-right. I feel a lot better now. [He rubs at his head. At least it seems like Lapis doesn't hate him for this. And he can do better for her - he wants to do better for him.]

[The thanks gets a strange look from Lapis, as she's not exactly sure why he's thanking her. She made him feel bad! That is not something to thank someone about, even if she fixed it.]

It's, um, nothing. Really.

[He feels that he deserved it, so he's grateful that she's being forgiving about it.]

Hey, if you say so, pal. ...S-so, uh, tv shows! Good... stuff, huh? [He says, awkwardly trying to transition back to the original subject.] I haven't really tried watching much of the tv in this world. I wonder if there's anything good!

[Oh god, TV here. Lapis was a bit wary of checking it out after that movie on the flight from the one moon to Lunatia, what if normal TV is just as weird?]

I, uh, wouldn't know. I haven't really been tempted to check?

[It is a valid concern. But, without any new media from home, he can't help but wonder.]

Hmm... Wanna give it a try? ...Or... maybe it'd be too risky. [He wavers indecisively.]

[One-day Lapis will hit up the Ware Shop and get all of Camp Pining Hearts.]

Um, maybe some other time? [It's been a weird rollercoaster of everything, adding whatever might be on television might just make things even more awkward.]

[That would lead to some glorious binge watching!

For now, Gumshoe just doesn't realize how much his idea is tempting fate. Still, he accepts that with a nod.]

Sure! TV can always wait for another time, pal. Come to think of it, we've been hanging around here for a while now. I shouldn't hold you up all day!

[They shall tempt fate some other day!]

Oh, right. I lost track of time. [She'll stand up, brushing her hands down the front of her pants out of habit.]

It's been fun hanging out with you, Dick.

It sure has been! [He smiles fondly as he rises to his feet. Part of him doesn't want to leave, but he figures it's time.] I.... I really enjoyed this. Thanks for having me, Lapis!

[He reclaims his trenchcoat from the Blue Badger. Then he motions towards that dancing thing.]

Hey - you wanna keep this guy, or should I take 'im back with me?
